Magical Teams Team member, Deb Radloff, Coordinator of Hiring and Community, shares her inspirational Founder with us this week: Dr. Theresa Haskins, President and CEO of Haskins Consulting for Workplace Diversity.
Deb connected with Dr. Theresa Haskins through the Magical Teams "Hiring for Neurodiversity" Q&A where Dr. Haskins spoke as an expert panelist. “I was absolutely blown away by how she spoke about Neurodiversity inclusive practices being better when they are made
universal”, Deb says. “Dr. Haskins has the ability to teach you, enlighten, and motivate you with her words all at once. If you are lucky enough to hear her speak, or hire her consulting group for your teams, I know you would leave with at least 3 actionable steps to take.”
What makes Dr. Haskins’ work so impactful that most typical recruiting, hiring, and Talent Management practices perpetuate a lack of diversity in the workplace. Unfortunately, most targeted diversity hiring programs and awareness learning programs do not achieve the desired outcomes because they do not address the root of the problem.
Dr. Haskins’ consulting firm Haskins Consulting group (www.theresahaskins.com) has been consulting and helping to train companies in bettering their DEI through training and education around neurodiversity.
Neurodiversity promotes the inclusion of autistic and other neurodivergent individuals and helps remove the barriers that limit diversity across all demographics. This is because neurodiversity includes both typical and neurodivergent individuals regardless of ability, race, gender, or creed. Neurodiversity requires leaders and employees to be more adaptive and accept differences, leading to more creative and inclusive workplaces.
Say hello to Dr. Theresa Haskins and other inspirational founders as we celebrate them.
